Free the data!
I am recommending Todd Park for a cube grenade. Todd is the Chief Technology Officer at the US Department of Health and Human Services. He has been a dynamic force and leader in pushing this Federal agency to open up it datasets and health surveys for all to play in (or as he says, ‘unlocking the inner mojo’ of the agency). His strong belief, followed up by his nonstop action, is to free the data so that it can be leveraged by innovators, entrepreneurs and anyone else to benefit the public and not kept locked away next to the Ark (see the Community Health Data Initiative for what this is becoming).
