Employer Of The Future

I’ve met dozens of unemployed middle aged men and women; they used to be VP’s and Sales Directors.  They used to travel and had a great deal of responsibility; some were married to their jobs.  I know, I was one of them but it still hurts me to see the ones with desperation in their eyes at networking events.

Then late last year I met a man with a different idea.  He is unemployed, middle aged (but young at heart) and decided to hell with it, and started a small solo company.  Brave or stupid, I wondered?

As you know first hand, there are good days and bad, small successes and failures.  New ideas and trial and error all along the way.  But I admire that everyday he takes responsibility for making his own way, never complains or blames others, and works his tail off.  If I’m inspired, maybe others would be as well.  It occurs to me that in the future, we will all be doing the same so I offer up a sample that represents thousands of guys and gals who were tired of being rejected by another company / HR / multinational / yada and took matters into their own hands.

And by the way, in the process his customers have a great time so the unexpected benefit is that he loves his “job”!  (Yep, I’m jealous.)
