 Give us a cubed grenade. Please. Here is a real opportunity to engage in cultural transformation. Not only are we a noble, good cause. Not only is it the morally correct thing to do, but we sell a magazine for psychologists that is fun, creative, enticing and exciting: New Therapist (NT) Magazine (http://www.newtherapist.com)

 NT has been published every two months by a group of psychologists since 1999. This NT team consists of a forward thinking group of people with a range of interests that translates into our approach to psychotherapy.

One is a manic backyard farmer, who kills his own chickens and wants to get back to the simple way of living; one is an aspirant Buddhist; one is an avid mountain biker and woodworker; and one plays an ace game of hockey.

We have an esteemed Agony Aunt, Freud’s twin sister, Frau Freudenschwester who was recently discovered hidden under the floorboards of her Viennese home. Trapped there by her twin brother over 150 years ago, since her release, she has been guiding our readers with her irreverent, witty, sharp-penned responses and cartoons.

We like to think of NT as the indispensable survival guide for the thinking psychotherapist, with top names from around the globe contributing to every edition. Some of our past editions include the Y2K edition, the Mindfulness edition, the Narcissism edition and the Forgiveness edition. 

However, while our baby thrives, we do not! We are becoming malnourished and our shoes have holes in them because none of us has a clue about marketing. So far, NT is the best-kept secret because our readership is so small. 

The World Health Organization estimates that by 2020 depression will be the number one contributor to the global burden of disease. This is a massive public health time-bomb. We believe that shrinks who are savvy, well-informed, critical thinkers are in a better position than any to make a difference to a sad world.
