I’m in education. I’m thinking about a program that runs for a semester on a community project that challenges the thinking that allows the abuse of basic human rights. They (the kids) research it, they feel it, they get motivated, they design their own assessments and they mark their own contribution themselves and the work they do is designed to make a real contribution to changing this world we live in. MY students learn by doing. By doing they learn they can make a difference. … great idea tim … but haven’t you already been there n done that?!:-)

what i want is some recognition for this sort of programming so that students, admin, teachers and parents see the value in it. I’m already doing it, but I want to grow a band of linchpins, not the same old lizard brains.

That’s the sort of cube grenade I want!! (I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t already 3/4 of the way there).

PS: My students live surrounded by gapingvoid posters on their classroom walls and i often point to the poster that says, “OK at the count of three, everybody stop laughing at me!”
